Welcome to TOMs FARM. 

We are primary producers of endemic seed, working on a stunning parcel of land on the edge of Lake Victoria in Point Lonsdale on the Bellarine Peninsula.

This land, from colonial settlement in the 1800s, once hosted cattle, before shell grit was discovered under the saline flats in the 1930s and extensively mined.

The 20 hectares of farming land leased by TOMs FARM is mostly low-lying with 750 metres of Lake frontage where endemic salt-marsh thrives. 

Remnant stands of Moonah (Melaleuca lanceolata) remain as well as the state and regionally significant plants Coast twin-leaf (Roepera billardierei) and Coast Wirilda. (Acacia uncifolia)

We, like many others, believe that caring for country must be sustainable and TOMs FARM is committed to growing a future where local landscapes can be enjoyed for generations to come. 

TOMs FARM knows we need to SAVE OUR SEED.  

Not from one or two roadside specimens but from plant communities in tune with local landscapes, with strong genetic diversity and the ability to survive changing climatic conditions. Using local seed for local planting projects is key.

We continue to work hard towards this goal - Keeping pest plants and animals under control - encouraging the regeneration of key species, and planting more of what is meant to be here in our specially designed SPA - Seed Production Area.
